Sub Donut

                 

I admit, slicing a Krispy Kreme donut in half, spreading butter over the exposed interior and frying it in a pan with cheddar cheese on top sounds insane. That said, you’re probably kind of curious, right?

It’s exactly as delicious as you think it is. The sweetness from the glaze melts and commingles with the cheese perfectly. I’d probably skip the butter next time, however, as it did maybe soften the “bun” a bit too much. When you’re in the midst of creation, you just go with your natural instincts and mine say “butter your bread.” Truth is, there’s probably enough fat going on in the dough itself to give you a nice crispy brown exterior when your cheesy donut sandwich is finished cooking.
