Nonsense

Testing The Best Camera

I'm a bit of a sucker for camera and photo apps on the iPhone. (Some might say I'm a bit of a sucker for pretty much ANY app, actually.)

In any case, got a tip on an app modestly called "The Best Camera," which features the ability to snap photos in app, then make some creative decisions by applying filters. There's some basic stuff like "lighten" and "darken," along with a few interestingly titled filters with names like "Candy" and "Slate," that do a little more complex rendering with the touch of a button.

So far, the majority of photo apps I've tried have been fun diversions, but a little useless for any actual purpose. This one adds the ability to post to Facebook and Twitter, along with the app author's personal photo sharing site, thebestcamera.com. You can also layer filters, which is a nice touch.

I just snapped this pic and applied two filters: Vignette and Paris. The results look pretty nice to my eye. Thus far, if anything is going to overtake the default Camera app, this is probably the one.

What do you think? Anyone else try The Best Camera yet?
